MALFUNCTION: The film “Chappie” follows a thinking robot, Chappie (above), who is raised by a group of gangsters. While actor Sharlot Copley’s genuine voice work and motion capture bring Chappie to life, the rest of the film is devastated by a preposterous amount of bland characters and differing storylines.
