On Jan. 27, the Mira Costa boys basketball team was defeated by West Torrance in a Bay League away match. The Mustangs came close with their defensive effort but were ultimately stopped by West’s own defense, ending the game with a final score of 57-51.
Sophomore Justin Strings led the Mustangs with 15 points. Junior Cole Feaster and senior Max Watson followed with 13 and 10 points respectively.
The Mustangs, with records of 15-7 overall and 2-4 in Bay League, face rival Redondo Union High School at home on Jan. 31.
