Girls cross country season comes to an end at Southern Section meet

The girls cross-country team participated in the Southern Section State meet for the fourth year in a row on Saturday Nov. 24 in Fresno, California.

Junior Abby Hong placed 13th overall and first for Costa with a time of 18:18. Senior Lauren Hagadorn came in second for Costa and placed 26th overall with a time of 18:40 and sophomore Emma Lautanen placed 33rd overall and third for Costa with a time of 18:49. In fourth place for Costa was sophomore Kara Jeong with a time of 19:16, and in the fifth and final scoring spot went to sophomore Natasha Bruinstein with a time of 19:23. The team finished in fifth place overall and will not advance to Nationals.

“I am very satisfied with our team’s performance,” Bruinstein said. “It was a great way to end the season even though we did not make it to Nationals.”

The girls team’s season is officially over and they will not have any more meets this season.
