The girls cross country team went to Mount San Antonio Community College on Oct. 20 to compete in the Mount SAC Invitational.

The girls competed in the invitational sweepstakes races, in both team and individuals. The team placed third in Division II with an average time of 18:33 for the three- mile race. Senior Abby Hong finished second in the team race and first in the individual sweepstakes race, with a time of 17:26. Junior Emma Lautanen was right behind her, with a time of 18:06.

“It was definitely a very competitive meet,” Hong said.

The girls participated in a non-league Apache Invitational in Arcadia County Park on Nov. 1 where they got ninth out of 24 teams. The team had league finals Thursday in Palos Verdes, but results were unavailable due to the time of publication.

“I hope we win the Bay League title and state,” Lautenen said.
