Editors-In-Chief
We started off our year as editors-in-chief, walking in the rain to the La Vista room with tears in our eyes as we realized that we would have to reprint our first issue. Now we come to you with 10 issues and loads of memories behind us, as we look back on a year that we will never forget.
When we first got the positions of editors-in-chief, we had to say goodbye to 25 senior editors that we saw not only as a talented editorial staff, but also as a family. Watching them leave was hard enough, but on top of that we had an extremely young staff coming in, with five sophomores in editor positions, and that scared us.
However, now, looking back on the year, we could not be prouder of our staff. The sophomores ended up being some of the most passionate, encouraging and entertaining editors that we have ever seen. All the other editors ended up completely defying our expectations as well.
We have been able to publish so much quality content this year, between both our print and online publications, and, as a team, the staff has made sure that we are on the front lines covering all breaking news.
So, despite any bumps in the road that we have had this year, we would like to thank our staff for reminding us every day, from the story conferences to the distribution days, why we love this paper so much and for making this the best learning experience that we could ever ask for.
Now, as our year comes to a close, we cannot help but smile to see the potential in Lizzy and Delaney, the new editors-in-chief, and the staff that they have put together for next year. Lizzy and Delaney, we have watched you flourish all year, and we know that you both have the capability to bring this paper to places we only could have dreamed of. There may be ups and downs, but in the end you will look back, side by side, with the biggest smiles, just as we do today. (Take care of the office for us).
