Sophomore Ava Vant Hof runs the ball downfield after a steal from South Torrance High School. She assisted her team mate Genevieve Watkins who scored in the third quarter.
Senior Whitney Davis stops South’s advance in the second quarter. Davis then had a breakaway and took the ball down to South’s goal but it was quickly returned in this close game.
Varsity goalie and Costa Freshman Ashley Nayor made a great save in the fourth quarter of the game. She punted the ball down to South’s side, but it was quickly returned.
Genevieve Watkins runs the ball before being stopped by South’s tough defense in the last minutes of the game. Mira Costa Varsity girls soccer beat out South High School with a final score of 1-0.
