1. Sophomore Talia Genova serves the ball during the third match out of five. The Mustangs played away against PV High for their first league game of the season.
2. Rochelle Scott, the junior setter, dumps the ball over the net saving a bad pass from the defense. Rochelle has played for Mira Costa Girls volleyball program since her freshman year at Costa.
3. Senior Lea Ungar, libero and/or defensive specialist, passes the ball served by a PV High School player. This is Lea’s third year on varsity and fourth year in the program. She is attending Cal Poly Slo next year playing indoor and beach volleyball for the school.
4. Junior Memphis Glasgow blocks the ball while she was playing middle blocker in the game against PV High. Memphis usually plays right side hitter but was chosen to play middle blocker because of senior Alexandra Kelly’s injury.
5. The team huddles up during a timeout to motivate each other and strategize for the rest of the last match. Mira Costa beat the Sea Kings in four matches, losing the first match and winning the next three.
