The Mira Costa girls volleyball team defeated Morningside high school 3-0, on Wednesday at Morningside high school. The Mustangs’ top performers included junior Rochelle Scott for her continuous kills which helped Costa acquire a strong offense.
The Mustangs won the first set 25-7 and continued their success winning the second set 25-8 and the third set 25-6. Junior Sequoia Wattles said that the team has to get their head in the game and focus on their side of the net.
“Serving tough and being aggressive at the net is a major priority for our game against Redondo,” Wattles said.
The Mustangs’ overall record is 5-2 will play Redondo Union High School tomorrow at home. Coach Austin Rester said that there are a bunch of talented kids on our team, so I think if we are good at the the things we are good at and we are good at the little plays we should have a chance of winning.
“If we can be the better serving, out of system, and non perfect volleyball team, then I think that it will put us in a really good spot to be competitive and steal some sets against Redondo,” Rester said.
