The Mira Costa softball team started off their season in a double-header at home against Esperanza and Long Beach Poly on Feb. 25. The Mustangs swept both teams and moved their record to 2-0 on the season.
In the first game against Esperanza, the Mustangs won in a shutout by a score of 7-0. The following game Costa came away with much the same result, beating Long Beach Poly 16-0. Junior Taylor Glover went 5-5 with three RBI’s in the two games combined and senior captain Katie Saunders had a two run home run against Long Beach Poly.
Costa next plays Fountain Valley at Cypress on March 3.
