On March 31, Mira Costa High School hosted the 18th Annual Mustang Relays and was largely successful, with multiple Costa track and field athletes delivering standout performances.
Senior Kyle Hubbard placed first in both the 110 and 300-meter hurdles, earning times of 14.90 and 38.92 seconds. Hubbard also placed second in the long jump with a length of 21-feet and 6-inches. Junior Reed Scale placed first in the pole vault with a height of 14-feet and 7-inches while senior Christian Ritchie followed with 13-feet and 6-inches. Senior Dan Golubovic placed first in the high jump with a height of 6-feet.
Senior Acacia Moore placed first in the girls 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.38 seconds. Senior Ashlee Dotson placed third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.50 seconds. Senior Kelli Sugimoto placed third in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:09:28.
Select track and field athletes will be chosen to compete in the Arcadia Invitational on April 6 and 7 in Arcadia.
