Majesty Minerals uses innovative skin therapy treatment

Parents that set great examples and achieve great accomplishments for their children further Costa’s reputation of success. Senior Paul Redman’s mom, Joanna Esty, is one of these role models.

Esty is a chemical engineer and a patent attorney. She developed a product line called Majesty Minerals, which helps soothe and promote natural healing of skin irritations, abrasions, and 1st and 2nd degree burns with the help of nanoparticle colloidal silver.

“Colloidal silver has been known for a thousand years to be anti-bacterial,” Esty said. “The problem is that if used in large quantities it discolors the skin blue. In the late 1990s nanotechnology was developed so that the silver particle size could be made tiny enough to avoid discoloration.”

Esty’s clients introduced her to Nancol technology when she was working for them as an attorney. She was interested in this technology and researched the ingredients. Later, she approached a company in New Jersey where she proposed her innovative product. From February to October 2011 Esty further developed the Majesty Minerals product line.

“I started doing my own research,” Esty said. “I bought different herbs and organics to experiment with. I mixed the ingredients with silver to come up with a formula that I liked. What I came up with is a lotion and a gel.”

After developing the cream, Esty met with Dr. Shaw in Phoenix who works with breast cancer patients. He gave his patients Esty’s cream to test out on their radiation burns. After a period of time, the product proved to be effective on the burns.

“Dr. Shaw has been giving the lotions and the gels to his patients since I have developed them last July,” Esty said. “The products are gifts to his patients and the donations were also a way to ensure the products show beneficial results.”

Esty sent samples of her product to the company in New Jersey that has now started to sell to distributors in Europe. Majesty Minerals’s products are sold online and will soon be carried at the Spyder surf shops in Hermosa Beach.

“We are starting to look for places to start to sell the product,” Esty said. “I developed it because I wanted something topical that I could use for my kids and that wasn’t going to be harsh—this is that product.”

Majesty Minerals has three Balm Collections: Royal Tattoo Balm, which helps faded tattoos return to their original quality, Epic Break Balm, which acts as an after-sun treatment and Empressil Balm, which leaves skin soft and reduces fine lines. In the future, Esty hopes to expand the company by creating a hand sanitizer and clear facial gel.

“I believe in the product and it makes me feel good to help people,” Esty said. “I am also working with Dr. Shaw to try and see if we can do testing in South America where they have a bad infection problem. I would love to see this get out into the market place to help people and keep them from being sick.”
