Girls golf beats rival Redondo

On Thursday, Sept. 13 Mira Costa Varsity Girls Golf defeated Redondo High School in a home match at Chester Golf Course with 186 to 228 strokes, bringing their record to 2-0 in Bay League and 3-0 overall.

Seniors Kari Gordon and Raquel Gordon shot 36, Freshmen Andrea Lee and Marni Murez shot 37 and 39, respectively, and junior Megan Kim shot 39.

“Everyone has been posting low numbers,” said Coach Tim Kelley. “ This is the first time five girls have shot in the 30s.”

The next match will be played away at Los Verdes Golf Course against South Torrance High School Tuesday, Sept. 18.
