The Mira Costa varsity football team finished second in Bay League in after a crucial win 45-38 against Redondo Union High School on Friday Nov. 2 at Redondo.
Senior running back Raphael Lawson-Gayle had a total of 210 yards with four touchdowns. Senior quarterback Khalil McClain rushed 120 yards with two touchdowns in the win.
“I’m proud of how the team competed,” coach Don Morrow said. “With this win we finished in second place, so we are lucky enough to have a home game for the playoff game.”
The Mustangs will play Highland High School in the first round of the CIF playoffs on Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at home.
