Girls Basketball beats North Torrance

The Mira Costa girls basketball team defeated North Torrance High School 60-30 on Dec. 6 in their second home game of the season.

Junior Camille Mills made six points in the first quarter and was the top scorer with a total of twelve points. This helped Costa hold a strong lead over North at the end of the first quarter with the score 17-5. The mustangs got ten more points from sophomore Keilani Ikehara and junior Michelle Lanterman scored a total of nine points.

“It’s great to come back and win a game after losing so we can prove ourselves to the other teams,” Mills said. “We learned from our mistakes from the last game and we worked on improving our game in practice which helped us go out confident and strong against North.”

The girls will play away in their first Bay League game on Dec. 8 against West Torrance HIgh School at 6:00.
