The Mira Costa girls basketball team traveled to Palos Verdes on Jan. 18 where they defeated Peninsula High School, 50-44.
Junior Shaylyn Austin was the top scorer for the Mustangs, scoring a total of 14 points. This helped Costa gain its 23-16 lead over the Panthers at the end of the first quarter. Junior Camille Mills scored ten points throughout the game to help Costa to victory.
“We are working well together and I can really see this team going far,” Mills said. “Our main goal for the season is to keep our energy up throughout every game”
The girls will play away on Jan. 19 against Marlborough High School.
