The Mira Costa girls softball team lost in an away game against Pacifica High school on Tuesday, March 19. The Mustangs lost 10-0 after five innings in a mercy.

Pacifica is the nineteenth ranked team in the state. Sophomore Fa Lailua had the only hit for the Mustangs during the fifth inning but was tagged out on a steal to second base. Going into the fourth inning, Costa was down 6-0. The game ended in the next inning due to a mercy.

“Pacifica has always been a strong softball program so as a team we will use this as a learning experience and work harder to improve before league games start,” sophomore Brittany Werre said.

The girls play Diamond Bar High School in their first game of the Katella Tournament on Saturday, March 23 in Orange County.
