The Mira Costa boys lacrosse team played Downey High School on Wednesday, March 20 and won 12-9.
The winning 3 goals were scored by senior Clay Russert. Senior Mark Matsumisha also scored 2 goals and had 5 assists.
“We’ve been used to not coming out strong in the beginning but finishing strong,” Russert said. “On Friday we will need to come out strong in the beginning against Palos Verdes.”
The boys next game will be on Friday against rival Palos Verdes High School at 6 p.m. at home.
