Boys 1,600-meter relay places second, breaks Costa record

The track team participated in an invitational meet at Cerritos College on March 23.

Senior Megan Burns took second place in girls pole vaulting while seniors Reed Scale and Sean Griffin both tied for second place in boys pole vaulting. Senior Justin McDonald, juniors JC Ohmstede and Niko Pappas and sophomore Chance Weston took second place in the boys 4×1,600 relay, breaking the Mira Costa record for the event.

The next track meet is the Mustang Relays, which will be tomorrow at Mira Costa.

“I feel good about our team,” coach Roberto Calderon said. “I am so proud of them.”
