Sophomore Brittany Werre went 0-2 but scored two runs and senior Amanda Newell went 2-4 with one run batted and two double hits to help with the Mustangs victory.
“This double header was great because it really set the tone on how we will do this week in our first league games,” Werre said. “We worked out some kinks and I’m positive everyone is pumped to open against Peninsula.”
The girls next play away in their first league game on April 10 against Peninsula High School at 3:15.
