The Mira Costa High School boys varsity tennis team lost against Palos Verdes High School 12-6 at home on Thursday, April 11. This was the team’s first loss and now the Mustangs are 4-1 in Bay League and 13-1 overall.
In singles, both freshmen Joey Rotheram and Alex Gaal won one set, and sophomore Evan Han won two sets. In doubles, senior Michael Carella and freshman Alec Zirkelbach won one set and senior partners Connor Mathews and Tom Wissel won one set.
“If we could have won a few of the late matches, we could have won the match,” coach Joe Ciasulli said.
The Mustangs’ next match is at home against Peninsula high school on Tuesday, April 16.
