The Mira Costa softball team won their first home conference game 12-0 against Leuzinger High School, on April 12. The girls continue the season with a 11-4-1 record overall and a 2-0 Bay League record.
To help with the Mustangs victory, junior Shannon Savino went 2-3 with one RBI and two runs. Sophomore Ulufa Lailua went 1-1 with four RBIs. Sophomore Brittany Werre hit a double and went 2-3 with one RBI.
“Our defense and hitting were all really strong today which helped our team work well out on the field together,” Werre said. “Our next game will definitely be more difficult so I hope we can play just as hard as we did in this game and go out with a lot of energy.”
The girls next game is at home against West Torrance High School on April 17.
