The Manhattan Beach Education Foundation is in the process of creating a special Endowment Fund to honor the Mira Costa class of 2013, entitled the Class of 2013 Forever Fund.
The MBEF Endowment is asking students and parents of Costa seniors to donate $20.13 or more to create this fund with the purpose of creating a more stable form of funding for the district.
“Like the Endowment itself, all donations will be held in perpetuity, growing with the investment returns going back into the schools,” MBEF Executive Director Susan Warshaw said.
Because the Class of 2013 Forever Fund is designed to be a legacy fund, graduating seniors can continue to donate each year or at each high school reunion.
“I think the fund is a great idea,” senior Christine Kuhns said. “By each person contributing a little, the class of 2013 can continue to give back and make an impact on our school for years to come.”
Parents wishing to make a donation can do so through the MBEF Endowment website at www.mbef.org/endowment.
“We wanted to create this fund so that the great school that the [Class of 2013] remembers will stay great for many years to come,” Warshaw said.
