The Mira Costa girls lacrosse team played Peninsula High School on April 26 and won, 15-12. Senior center Carly McGuire helped the team’s effort with five goals and an assist. Costa maintained the lead throughout the first half and went into half time with a leading score of 10-7.
“It was crucial that we were able to get ahead of them early,” McGuire said.
Peninsula surged back in the second half, but Costa was able to maintain the lead and win, 15-12. Costa is now 14-3 overall with a 10-2 Bay League record. The team hosted Oak Park yesterday but results were unavailable at the time of publication.
“Our smooth transition and solid defense helped maintain the lead for the game and allowed us to win,” McGuire said.
