Around 2:30 p.m. today, a man, who was wanted for an outstanding felony weapons warrant, led the Manhattan Beach Police Department on a 100-minute chase throughout Manhattan Beach and neighboring communities, officials said.
The man, being described as a black male, mid-30s, wearing a black hat, gray sweatshirt and black jeans, was finally arrested atop a Manhattan Beach resident’s roof on the 600 block on 9th Street around 4:30 p.m.. Medical staff arrived to help the injured suspect, and police promptly took him into custody.
Throughout the search, police cars and helicopters were on watch for the criminal, concentrating in the area around Ardmore and 9th Street. MBPD used the criminal alert system, Nixle, to warn all residents to promptly lock their doors and call the MBPD with any further knowledge of the suspect.
