Boys water polo sweeps West Torrance, 18-3

In its third game of the season, the Mira Costa boys water polo team defeated West Torrance on Wednesday, with a win of 18-3.

Costa scored 9 goals in the first period, while West Torrance scored one. During the second period, sophomore driver Jake Miller-Tolt scored. Then junior left driver Gage Stroman passed the ball to junior driver Chase Williams who eventually finished off the play with a goal. Williams scored again making the score 12-1. Then senior set Andrew Burdiak scored twice, followed by two more goals by West Torrance.

“I think that the game we played today showed that we have finally gotten used to playing together,” junior driver Dylan Linnell said. “Today’s game against West Torrance showed that we can play as a team.”

The boys play again on Thursday at home against Montebello High School.
