“Halloween Horror Nights” at Universal Studios delivers

By Rollie Nichols

For 23 years, Universal Studios Hollywood has been putting on a spectacle that is quite the fright to see. With its numerous mazes, scare zones, and rides with their Halloween embellishment, it is definitely worth going to.

Universal Studios is a theme park based upon the Universal film company that has produced thousands of films that have been award winning and famous across the world. These professionals use their talents to make actors look like those from their films and other popular media.

The park is filled with scare zones where the actors come up and scare the attendees. The scare zones include: Zombies from The Walking Dead, evil clowns called Cirque Du Klownz, dead dolls from The Curse of Chucky, Scarecrowz, and The Purge. These actors do an incredible job with their scaring and take pride in making the guests feel frightened.

The mazes in the park are inside buildings where people are dressed according to their movie, show, or music. They pop out of random places and scare the people who are inside. These mazes include, The Walking Dead: No Safe Haven, Insidious: Into the Further, Evil Dead: book of the Dead, El Cucuy: The Boogeyman, Black Sabbath 13, and the Universal Monsters Remix: Resurrection.

The actors who are doing their job there at Halloween Horror Nights are professionally trained and go to months of classes in order to know how to truly cause freight. The actors do a phenomenal job and leave you scared beyond belief.

Along with the additions, the original rides such as The Mummy, Transformers, The Simpsons, Jurassic Park and many more are still open and are extremely fun to ride. There is also a show playing at the park periodically throughout the night called Bill and Ted’s Halloween Adventure. It is a comedy and definitely worth the time to see.

Halloween Horror Nights is a fantastic park and the mazes are very fun. There is no doubt that it is worth it to attend the park and enjoy the craziness that goes on during the night.

The actors do a fantastic job with scaring the people yet are careful when they do so. The rumor about the actors being allowed to touch you is not true and that makes the park safer and much more enjoyable.

There are some aspects of the park that are not ideal. It is not a place for families with small children because the little ones will be scared easily. It is also a pain to get there because of the heavy Los Angeles traffic which can make the trip take over an hour coming from around Costa.

In the park there are incredible mazes but the lines are incredibly long. The wait times for some of the rides exceed two hours on occasion and are horrible to stand in. Other than that, there are no major problems with the way the park is set up.

Tickets can be bought for Hollywood Horror Nights online at their website or at the park before you go in. It is ideal to buy them in advance to make sure that you get one before they sell out. Regular admission is $69, a front of the line pass is $139, and a VIP experience is $229.

This spectacle is something you don’t want to miss and only gets better every year. Going with a group of friends is especially fun because watching your best friends jump in fear is a great sight to see. This is definitely worth your time and it will be fun. Don’t miss out on one of the best attractions this year. But be careful because “Once you’re inside… there is no way out”.
