The People Attaining Complete Equality hosted Red Ribbon Week on the week of Oct. 20 with a final assembly on Oct. 25 to raise drug and alcohol awareness.
PACE promoted the assembly throughout the week by handing out bracelets, lollipops and posting informative posters around the Costa campus.
“If people were offered drugs or alcohol, having the bracelet might have made them think twice,” PACE member junior Laney Benson said.
This year’s assembly theme was “3 choices.” The guest speaker and psychotherapist Ana Pirkl talked about the three choices people face in adversity: numb, run or stand.
“It is all about getting the important information to the students about drugs and alcohol,” PACE coordinator Dr. Rocky Wilson said.
