After defeating Torrey Pines on Saturday, the girls volleyball team fell to the Seahawks on Tuesday.

In the first game, Redondo took an early lead, and Costa failed to recover. Redondo won, 25-20.

“It was emotional because of the tradition,” junior middle blocker Katie Rethmeyer said.

Costa improved its play in the second game, but Redondo did not let up, winning 25-19.

The third set was tied 21-21, but Costa lost, 25-23. The team finished with a record of 6-2 in Bay League and 21-8 overall. The girls will play their first CIF match on Tuesday.

“We have a clean slate heading into CIF,” coach Lisa Zimmerman said.
