The girls tennis team fell to Campbell Hall School, 5-13, on Nov. 11 in the (CIF) quarterfinals on Nov. 11.
The team ended its season with a record of 2-1 in CIF.
In singles, the Mustangs were unable to win any sets. Singles player junior Brooke Swallow lost 2-6, 3-6, 2-6. Freshman Amy Gaal also lost one match 2-6, and lost the other two matches, 1-6. Junior Taylor Klein lost 0-6, 1-6, 1-6.
“Campbell hall was a great team and I think they were just more equipped for this match,” Klein said. “These losses are somewhat helpful because it humbles us and shows us just how to improve so that next time we play them, we can be the victors.”
In doubles, senior Paula Cenusa with junior Mai Nojima won both of their sets, 6-2 and 6-4. Doubles team of freshmen Isabella and Katarina Draskovic also won both sets, 6-1 and 6-0. Senior Sidney Ascher and junior Madi Giese won one set, 6-3.
“”The match was very competitive,” Katarina Draskovic said. “It was a really special feeling to go to the quarterfinals and we hope to do better next season.”
