The girls cross country team traveled to Laguna Hills High School to compete in a meet on Sept. 11.
Junior Kelli Sugimoto was a standout for the team, finishing with a time of 17:54 and leading the girls to a runner-up finish in the Division II junior division. Senior Savannah Pio finished first in her senior race with a time of 18:09.
The boys team went to Estancia High School in Costa Mesa on Sept. 18 for the 2010 Woodbridge Cross Country Classic. Junior Adam Perez’s 15:34 third-place time led the juniors to a first-place finish.
The senior squad also finished third in their Division II race. Juniors Zach Adler and Travis Taylor also helped to boost the team, finishing with times of 15:55 and 15:56, respectively. Freshman rising star Nikko Pappas finished seventh overall in his with a time of 16:55.
