In the second half, the girls continued their domination with three more goals in the third period and six saves from senior goalie Katy Heatherton. In the fourth period, sophomore driver Cami Ruiz scored one backhand goal and then two more goals afterwards. Nguyen scored two more goals and Heatherton assisted a goal by Le to finish off the game. The final score was 20-2.
“When you are beating the other team by so many points, sometimes the games aren’t as fulfilling because it’s more fun to work really hard for your wins,” Ruiz said. “But every player got to play today and that is what is important. Everyone contributed to our win.”
The girls play their next game against Santa Monica in Santa Monica on Jan. 17 at 3:00 p.m.
