In a world dominated by mainstream music, multi-talented artist Aloe Blacc stands alone as a skilled musician and performer. In the third studio album of his career, Blacc proves that he is a force to be reckoned with in “Lift Your Spirit.”
Blacc is commonly known for his collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii in the song “Wake Me Up”, a chart topping single that sealed a number one spot in 22 different countries. Although he is not as popular, Blacc’s new album will cause others to recognize his talents as he captures the spotlight.
Lift Your Spirit has a sound that is just as positive as its album title. Blacc combines various styles of music to create one well-rounded album that has a song for everyone to relate to. In his album, Blacc manages to incorporate country, rap, and blues influences which adds to the album’s strengths.
This album does not feature any vocal appearances. However, guest producers including DJ Khalil and Pharrell Williams are valuable contributors as they lend their expertise as musicians bringing a distinctive style.
“The Man” is one of the featured singles on Lift Your Spirit. This song was also used in a few commercials for Beats by Dre headphones which is how it gained its popularity. The song contains uplifting lyrics that discuss self-empowerment and positivity. With a catchy beat and hook, Blacc created a classic.
Aloe Blacc is an artist to watch in years to come. Overall, “Lift Your Spirit” is a great album that is suitable for everyone and is available on iTunes.
