Kevin Hart, a notorious stand-up comedian and actor, has a short stature, high pitched voice, and natural comedic personality is perfect for this role.
Cube, is also casted well for this part due to his ability to be a jerk in the movie while still being funny. Ice Cube, who has been in plenty of movies that range from rated R to rated PG, performed exceptionally well in this film.
Although the film is primarily a comedy, it is also quite serious at times. The way Hart and Ice Cube are able to make serious themes such as drugs, murder, and love seem comedic is what makes the film enjoyable.
Some unenjoyable comedy films are not successful due to the forced jokes. However, with comedians like Kevin Hart and Ice cube, the jokes flow perfectly and seem like normal conversation.
