Fans of the group Linkin Park get excited as the band’s brand new album “Recharged” was released on November 1, 2013.
Separating from their previous sounds, Linkin Park decides to incorporate techno and hip hop in their new songs. Being their 9th album to be released, “Recharged” attempted to accommodate today’s popular stylistic music.
Many listeners are disappointed by the fact that Linkin Park decided to put in a new style to their rock/alternative legacy. According to people that are familiar with the band, their decision to change their style was adventurous, however a failed attempt to gain past popularity.
The album begins and ends with a song entitled “A Light That Never Comes” almost immediately showing off the techno/stylings the band added to their voices. After the introduction, most of the songs have the exact same techno and rap musicality and has a minimal amount of songs with rock sounds.
Although Linkin Park didn’t stick with their previous alternative music, their songs on the new album don’t sound absolutely terrible. The techno is quite enjoyable and easy to dance to; something entirely different from their familar loud drums and heavy guitar solos. However each song listed in the album are not carefully placed and sound extremely scattered.
According to reviews on iTunes, fans of Linkin Park are extremely disappointed that the band’s albums have been getting worse by each new album released. Many people don’t enjoy the dubstep feel and the sound each song presents.
Lead singer of Linkin Park, Chester Bennington, sounds very robotic instead of lyrical. Many listener are displeased with the way Bennington sings his way through every song not to mention he sounds extremely depressed.
The overall album is entirely unique and original as the band pursued a different sound in order to attract new listeners. However it had the opposite effect as many loyal fans were outraged by the new sounds.
Linkin Park’s album is available on iTunes for $11.99.
