English teacher Pam Jenning retires

Pamela Jennings, 20 year Mira Costa English teacher and English department head, announced her plan to retire at the close of the current school year yesterday.

Jennings has been teaching literature and composition for a total of 35 years. Outside of the classroom, she took on such leadership roles as ASB director from 1994 to 2000 and Chair of the English department from 2003 to present. She is also responsible for the introduction of the Senior Seminar program and the anti-plagiarism website turnitin.com to Mira Costa.

“Every teacher must ultimately decide on the right moment to retire and, for reasons I can’t even articulate to myself, right now seemed like the best time,” said Jennings.
