“We felt pretty confident that we were going to win,” junior Marni Murez said. “We had four top notch players while they only had one. We played really well and we knew we were going to win.”
The Girls played at their home course Chester Washington golf course. The girls practice at the lakes, but do. It use it as their home course.
“Chester Washington is a fun course that we seem to do well at,” Murez said. “We know the course and we love playing teams here because it feels like we have the advantage.”
The girls focused on their game and the result showed how their focused helped them. Murez and sophomore Ashley Kim combined for five birdies to help the Mustangs pull out a win.
“We are always focused during matches and we were especially today,” Murez said. “There was never a moment where it was a close call. It is hard to tell because you do not know how your team is doing, but the majority of our team is good so we do not worry.”
The Mustangs remain undefeated so far throughout their season. They have rolled over everyone in their path and have dominated the league.
“I feel great that we are undefeated,” Kim said. “I hope we continue to win and have a chance of winning CI
Murez shot one under par with a 35 while Kim shot two under par with a 34. Both girls contributed to the Mustangs dominating win.
“Marni and I both had solid rounds with a lot of birdies,” Kim said. “We only had one bogey but mostly it was a consistent round for both of us.”
The girls golf team next game will be held at Alondra on Thursday against West Torrance High School.
“I feel like we are a really good team and we have not lost a game yet,” Kim said. “I am pretty confident that we will win our next match and we will continue to get better and better each week.”
