In their first away game of the season, coming off a solid win at home against Downey, Costa failed to keep up with the high intensity team of Trabuco Hills losing 31-3 in a lopsided defeat.
Already falling behind at the end of the first half 21-3, as the game progressed, Costa final effort wasn’t enough to pull off the win. After the first quarter, Trabuco Hills began to slow down, only scoring 10 points in the final two quarters, and the Mustangs tried to capitalize. Even though the Mustangs tried to come back, they didn’t have enough to get the job done.
“You are always looking to improve, one of the remarks I made to them yesterday was that we point to the championship banner wall with all of the CIF Finalists, and most of those teams on that wall steadily improved,” Coach Don Morrow said. “Even through week 12, week 13, and thats what a great team does.”
