Phase III of Measure BB construction continues at Costa for the new art room, the band and orchestra rooms and the new student quad as the project progresses for its March deadline.
The new art room is planned to be completed in mid-November. The new orchestra and band rooms will be finished by the end of February. During construction, Costa bands have practiced in the small gym and while Costa orchestras have moved into the cafeteria.
“The new building will be a welcome change from the cafeteria we’re practicing in now,” orchestra member junior Meera Nagpal said.
New equipment and tools are planned to be implemented within all of these new modern structures. These new tools include smart boards and technological additions, such as specific outlets for iPods or iPhones for students to play their music on.
“I think the insides of the classrooms are amazing,” Principal Dr. Ben Dale said. “It is a really nice space in which to teacher and learn. The furniture and fixtures, as well as the technology, are all of the highest quality,” Dale said.
All construction is expected to culminate by the end of March 2015.
“The construction is definitely going to make our campus look great,” Dale said.
