This year, Mira Costa High School welcomes a new sport to the winter athletic agenda: rugby. A sport that is usually played in clubs in the South Bay, Costa has unified their team by giving them official affiliation to the school.
Led by veterans such as Juwan Johnson and staffed with young athletic talent, this team has championship potential. They are a program of heart, of camaraderie, and of raw talent.
As an official Costa sport, the boys look to take home the Southern California Blue Division Championship in the Mustang’s first ever rugby season.
