As lines started to amount to a couple hundred fans, people began to anticipate an unforgettable Saturday night with indie-pop-rock lyrics and beats stealing their hearts as artist Sky Ferreira, would play one of her final shows of her tour at The Observatory. Debuting her latest album, “Night Time, My Time” Ferreira flipped her hair and strutted her way through the blacked out, red lit Santa Ana Venue on November 22.

Twenty-two year old Sky Ferreira is somewhat of a fresh face when it comes to touring, yet has had quite some experience doing it. Some may know this indie musician from opening for the unique and quirky, Miley Cyrus last year during the Bangerz tour. Yet, Ferreira just released her first and fully finished album, “Night Time, My Time” in October of 2013.

The chanting of “Sky” over and over again, brought Sky Ferreira and her band out filled with excitement and energy as they began the show with a hit from the album, “24 Hours” starting off the concert with a theater full of cheering. As Sky floated across the stage as if she was a gothic angel, she signed records and accepted roses and gifts from fans in the front row. Ferreira created an intimate mood with her keyboardist by her side mixing the beats and pumping up the crowed to engage.

The concert lacked not a single thing as the charming artist used every single inch of the stage. Walking and strutting from side to side and reaching out to the smiley, song-singing fans creating a deep, intimate atmosphere for the listeners.

The performance was brought forth from Sky and her back band as they bobbed and swayed to each song that they handed the audience, through their gothic, yet energetic ensemble. What seemed to be the most talked about and riveting performance Sky gave, was most definitely the iconic and emotional soon to be released, “Guardian” that gave visual chills to each and every fan that listened for the first time. The vocals and passion that Ferreira presented kept the crowd wanting more as she ended the song with an imprint of emotion that set off a mood across the Santa Ana theater.

Songs off the indie-pop femme’s album, Sky exerts goth and emotional lyrics like her hit single, “You’re Not The One,” that expresses a dyer need to find oneself. As Sky placed her slick black shades, rocking her head, and popping her leather jacket as she sang, “It’s the middle of the night and I’m so gone
And I’m thinking about how much I need you.” Fans repeating every lyric as if it were their own and kept their hands flying in the air moving with the crowd as one.

Though her vocals and engaging crowd interaction was more than par, Ferreira’s so-called “visuals” did not turn heads, nor spark buzz. Even though black and red flashing strobe lights hit the audience and herself, creating a dramatic effect, they did not show any artistic value or add any flavor to the concert itself.

Other than a lack of visual aid, Sky Ferreira and her crew certainly left the fans chanting for more and indeed, they received two last songs to end the night. Ferreira came out with an eager and proud face on, playing a crowd favorite “Everything’s Embarrassing” as she looked into the eyes of screaming dancing audience members. Leaving the show as Sky left a genuine “We love you guys!” and thanking everyone who came and supported her music. The Ferriera fans left the venue full of energy or headed to the table determined to snag a band shirt, noting this concert experience as a memorable one.

Sky Ferreira ended her “Night Time, My Time” tour with a bang in San Francisco, and is now starting to record her second album to come in 2015. “Night Time, My Time” is available on iTunes for $6.99.
