On Tuesday January 6, the Mira Costa girls water polo team faced off against Palos Verdes in an away game. The match was held in Palos Verdes was an extremely physical battle, considering it was the girls first Bay League game.
In the end, the Mustangs finished one goal short, losing the game 12-11. Sophomore Aminadi Anorve-Saetth had four goals for the mustangs and Junior Kaylee Brownsburger was able to score 3 goals. The game was close but in the end the Mustangs efforts were not enough to pull out a win.
“Knowing we were facing our number one rivals completely changed our mentality of the game. We were all really nervous and we played timidly,” Junior Yen Nguyen said. “Once we get over mental blockades, our team has the potential to go far.”
