The Manhattan Beach Education Foundation hosted it’s annual College Admissions Night on Jan. 20 to inform parents and students about the American College Test, the Scholastic Aptitude Test and the process college admissions.
The event was headlined by guest speaker Adam Ingersoll. Ingersoll began his career when he was a freshman at University of Southern California in 1993 and is now running his own test prep company. He educated the audience with ideas and advice to help students achieve college goals.
“I have worked closely with these tests for a long time,” guest speaker Adam Ingersoll said. “I have seen a lot of parent involvement and my company, Compass Education Group, strives to increase the students’ grades on their major tests.”
Ingersoll presented details about changes in the SAT, such as the change in the vocabulary and scoring policies, and statistics on how students currently prefer to take the ACT, since it is not currently being changed.
“It was helpful in directing me in whichever way I chose for my educational career,” sophomore attendee Antonio Sellitto said. “I’d highly recommend others to go to one.”
