Current Manhattan Beach City Council members Amy Howorth and David Lesser, along with resident Bill Victor and write-in candidate Viet Ngo, are currently running for two seats on the Manhattan Beach City Council on Tuesday.
When elected, the two elected candidates will serve a four- year term including a nine-month mayoral position during their time in office.
“I want the residence at City Council meetings to participate and have their voices heard,” Victor said.
Howorth has been a member of the City Council for four years. Lesser has served six years on the Manhattan Beach Planning Commission and four years as a member of City Council. Victor is currently a lawyer and used his practice to advise Manhattan Beach residents to help gain free street sweeping in Manhattan Beach.
“Costa has been a huge support in helping me with my campaign,” Howorth said. “I am blessed that I have gotten a lot of support for my ideas for the city.”
Residents can vote at the Joslyn Center or by mail-in ballots. The two new members will enter office on March 17.
“I look forward to the ideas and the impact each City Council member will have on this beautiful community,” Manhattan Beach Mayor Wayne Powell said.
