After three years of Measure BB construction at Costa, the school will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on March 31 for the grand opening of the remodeled campus.
The Measure BB bond, which has funded the construction project, is responsible for the renovation of the new quad, the math and science building, the multipurpose room and the new orchestra and band rooms.
“We are very excited to see our Measure BB project come to such a successful conclusion,” MBUSD Superintendent Dr. Michael Matthews said.
Currently all building structures, including the new art room, cafeteria, black box theater and quad, have been completed.
“I think that the new cafeteria will be a big hit because it will help manage the lines for food,” Principal Dr. Ben Dale said.
The last phase of the construction is paving the new access road near the gyms. This new road will now go through the school and will be the finishing touch, according to Dale.
“I hope that our students, parents and teachers react positively and enthusiastically toward the end of this project,” Matthews said.
