In the semifinals of Division III California Interscholastic Federation on Feb. 25, the Mustangs faced Arroyo Grande High School and were unable to take the win, losing 7-5.
“The girls played a great game,” coach Jon Reichardt said. “It just came down to our offense, and we weren’t able to score enough goals.”
Costa faced off against Peninsula on Feb. 9 for the Bay League title. The Mustangs ended up losing, 7-6, due to Peninsula’s swift offense. The Mustangs finished second in Bay League and ended the season with an overall record of 15-1.
“We had a fantastic season,” Reichardt said. “All the girls really grew as players. In the beginning of the year, everyone was really immature, and we had a lot of injuries, but in the end we were CIF contenders.”
