Costa’s Associated Student Body will host its second-annual Sadie Hawkins dance on March 27 at the Portofino in Redondo Beach from 7 to 11 p.m.
At the dance, students will be able to play a variety of casino games including poker, blackjack and roulette, where they will have the chance to win fake money. The students with the most fake winnings will receive free tickets to this year’s prom.
Students also have the option of dressing up in costumes as pairs or groups at the dance.
“I love the costume theme,” junior ASB representative Kiera Isgrig said. “It gives every couple an opportunity to be creative.”
According to ASB director Lisa Claypoole, students enjoy Sadie’s more than other dances because it is casual and not on campus.
“I am excited about Sadie Hawkins because it was the best new event that was introduced to Costa last year,” Claypoole said.
Tickets are currently on sale at the Mustang Mall or student store during lunch. The tickets are $34 for a single and $64 for a couple with a ASB markers, and $38 for a single and $72 for a couple without ASB markers.
“I am hoping that everyone who attends Sadie’s this year will have an amazing time and want to go again next year,” Co-Commissioner of Entertainment senior Kristin Reed said.
