The Costa Badminton team played a tough Cerritos team on April 1, at the Manhattan Beach Badminton Club, and fell 11-10 after a valiant effort to turn the game around. The Mustangs fought back, but it was not enough to rally.
The Mustangs put this behind them, and are focusing on their next match against Cabrillo High School the Wednesday after Spring Break. Usual top performers Sam Shwartz and Yoshi Cohn were silenced by Cerritos, and Shirleen Chen stepped up to fill their shoes, winning both matches.
“This was a tough match, and there were a couple of matches where we could have won it, but we’ll just need to put it behind us and get them when it matters in the playoffs,” Head Coach David Levin said.
