The Mira Costa Mustangs varsity tennis team played against Redondo Union High School on Thursday, away, at 3pm. The Mustangs dominated, winning with a score of 17-1, making their record 9-5.
Top performers, Alex Gaal and Jeremy Chung, played doubles, along with Blake and Tanner Suard who won the only match they played, 6-1, before being subbed out. Also, Evan Fortier played singles winning his matches 6-1, 6-1, and 6-0. Jason Wu, another singles player, won 6-3, 6-1.
“We came out very strong against Redondo today,” Tanner Suard said. “We tried to come out and beat them quick and we managed to do that by dominating many sets in the beginning of all our matches.”
The Mustangs next match will be Friday against Dos Pueblos at Dos Pueblos in a non-league match.
