On Wednesday April 15, Mira Costa entered the Knabe Cup in Lakewood, California, taking on Lakewood High School in the first round. It was a close game, however Mira Costa fell short 147-142.
Junior Nick Harry helped keep the Mustangs in the game by shooting a 37 on the back nine and overall, was phenomenal on the green. Harry had help from Senior CJ Coleman, as he parred his last hole, but still wasn’t enough to give the Mustangs the victory.
“Lakewood is a tough team but I admire my teammates for not giving up and playing hard until the end. I think if we were able to play them again there would be a different result,” said Harry.
Mira Costa Varsity Golf takes on West Torrance at Chester Washing on April, 20th hoping to improve their record to 7 wins and 4 losses so far in the season.
“Even though we lost against Lakewood the kids still played at a high level and I hope this momentum carries over against West Torrance on Monday,” said Boys Varsity Golf Coach Ryan Branning.
