Chet Faker’s performance was “gold” while performing his newest album “Built on Glass.”

Nicholas Murphy or Chet Faker, his stage name, performed at Coachella this year so he decided to perform two shows in Los Angeles while he was here. He is an independent Australian electronic musician. Chet Faker has been deservingly gaining recognition because of his most recent album “Built on Glass.”

Whether Murphy was vocalizing or using his mixers and keyboards, he made each song memorable. Each drop and vibration added to the live performance. The ground vibrated repeatedly throughout all the songs, which added to the overall feel of each song.

Murphy’s ability to switch from his keyboard to multiple mixers to a electric guitar is extraordinary. He switched from his keyboard to his mixers in seconds making each drop and note intense and perfectly timed.

At Club Nokia, Murphy opened with “No Diggity.” The medium tempoed beat slowly turned into “Drop the Game” that is co-produced with Flume. “Drop the Game” was a pleaser the whole audience all sang along to.

The most superior part of the performance was “Talk is Cheap.” A slow tempo song is unlike any of the other songs he performed because of the pleasant absence of his usual electronic sound. “Talk is Cheap” was part of his encore which led up the last song of the night “Gold”.

He ended with a bang with “Gold” which Murphy is arguably most famous for. This fast beat song is unlike any other of his. His clear vocals were perfectly emphasized with his usual drops and vibrations in a different way, he builds up to the drops and chorus.

Overall “Built on Glass,” his album, showed the talent Chet Faker has in live shows to entertain the audience. He performed the songs like there was no difference in the recording studio.

Tickets sold from $45 to $70, his next appearance will be at “Outside Lands music festival” in August.
